When I was younger I wished I had a crystal ball so I would know what was going to happen in the future – mainly whether or not my mum would finally let me have a dog because I was besotted by canines – but also because I am and always have been a chronic planner and over thinker.

As time has progressed I would still like to have that crystal ball – mainly to foresee whether I’ll ever learn how to use a wireless printer – but on the whole I have accepted that life is unpredictable and that’s just how we gonna roll.

But there are a few things I know for certain will happen in 2016;

  1. I will still kill every plant that comes into my possession because (despite being a veteran member of the school gardening club in year 6-we basically were just free assistance for the janitor to do the weeding) I am not capable and no matter what anyone says cactus are incredibly easy to kill… So in 2016 I’m making a move into hardier plants. The thistle is my first victim.
  2. I will book flights to New York because it makes my heart soar with joy and I love every minute I spend there and British airways have some tasty-too-good-to-be-true-deals at the moment. Plus my Jo Malone pomegranate noir perfume reminds me SO much of the time I visited for Christmas that I want to sob every time I spritz it and I think bed-partner thinks I’m finally losing the plot.
  3. Ankle boots are going to make a comeback. I’m sure of it. Well in my wardrobe at least. Because quite frankly I wear trainers so much that my feet have become so precious that even so much as a slight heel makes them throw a massive wobbly and at the age of 24 I can’t resign myself to a lifetime of only being able to wear rubber soled shoes. Ankle boots will be my transitional facilitators back into the realm of shoes that were acceptable before normcore. I will be opting for Chelsea boots in black suede. In case you were interested.
  4. I will start vlogging… Well perhaps. This one is the most unlikely mainly becauseĀ killing plants and booking unaffordable holidays comes so naturally to me (#blessed) whereas this requires me to navigate youtube…but at least putting it in writing here makes it 10% more likely due to my crippling inability to not giveĀ in to social pressure. BUT U HAVE TO PROMISE you’ll watch. I’ll be sending out written contracts within the hour.

Anyone else got any predictions for the big 2k16 they would like to share with the class?

  • Glad to know I’m not the only one who kills all their plants! And NYC is so amazing — you’ll have a great time (be sure to have lunch at by Chloe — I went in October and wrote a review on the blog because I loved it so much). And Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir reminds me of Christmas too!

    • Hahahah so relieved that I’m not alone!! Yes I absolutely love New York, I booked flights at the weekend and already so excited :) going over to read your review for sure! xxx

  • POINT 3! Completely with you on this, my feet have turned in soft pathetic weaklings! I had to buy a pair of boots recently because it had gotten to the point where I literally did not own anything but trainers! Also thinking about giving point 4 a try as well, I promise to subscribe and watch if you do make the leap into the depth of YouTube. xx

    • Seriously my feet are so pathetic. I destroyed my knee running for the bus in our favourite cos heels the other night – ridiculous. I promise to hold you to watching all my most mundane vlogs… Seriously though what sort of content do you like to watch? (Market research and that) xxx

    I love those flowers you have, so unique and pretty! And I try not to make too many predictions because I’m never sure what will happen, but I love the list! I hope you start vlogging :)

  • Ohhh! Room for a little one in your suitcase to NYC? I would love to go.
    Good luck trying to keep the plants alive!

  • Oh, how I wished I had a Crystal Ball now and then. Perhaps my predictions for 2016 would be better.

    ANKLE BOOTS BETTER MAKE A COMEBACK. I adore mine, and hope more people will start loving them just as much. I hope you will be able to visit New York, it definitely is a beautiful city to get lost in <3

    I’m a hopeless case when it comes to plants too, ugh. I can’t even take care of a CACTUS right. Also, I’m excited for you to visit more of NYC. I shall live my dream vicariously through you and your vlogs (bc u have to vlog while in The Big Apple.)
