Punch Pizza, 3226 W Lake St, Minneapolis, 55416
I cannot reiterate how beautiful the weather was in Minneapolis – perhaps it slightly rose-tinted our view of the city. But we were able to sit outside and eat dinner for the first time in 2015 and you’ve got to be pleased about that. Punch was one of those meals where we spent ages wandering looking for somewhere to go and I’m so glad we held out because the pizza and atmosphere were amazing.
Brasa Rotisserie, 600 E Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55414
Brasa is a restaurant you will hear mentioned a lot in Minneapolis. It’s one of their most popular destinations. So as soon as I found out our Air BnB was right next door, I was already placing my order. And since we left Puerto Rico I have been having weekly cravings for sweet plantains and pulled pork, and Brasa did not disappoint. Be sure to put this one in your diary.
Tao Organic Foods, 2200 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55405
This is definitely one for anyone who considers themselves a foodie, or whose body, like mine, tends to really over react to lactose/gluten/fresh air – such a drama queen. Plus they have great vegan and vegetarian options. I would definitely recommend the Mayan Chocolate Brownie, with a hint of chili. Plus they have a lovely shop at the back, like a mini Whole Foods but probably with better morals.
Sebastian Joes, 1007 W Franklin Ave, Minneapolis, MN
I’d given my body a break at Tao Foods so then decided to punish it by consuming a chihuahua’s body weight in ice cream. But it was salted caramel and chocolate chip – what was I meant to do? Say no….? Even if it is snowing outside, you have to do this. I implore you to visit Sebastian Joes and order the chocolate waffle cone whilst you’re at it. Also who knew ice cream doesn’t photograph well in 30 degree heat?!
