Breaking News!!! We have officially left Manhattan – well sort of – only to go over to Brooklyn, home to the Hipster, Soy Milk, the world’s largest supply of Kale the and of course DUMBO (not the circus elephant) but in fact Down Under Manhattan Bridge – O?!
Instead of hopping on the subway (that is just so last week) we decided to commandeer the East River Ferry – one of those so called ‘commuter taxis’ for those travelling to Manhattan from Brooklyn – I just don’t buy it, if these people ever want to get to work before next Christmas, they better be getting on the subway because this thing takes the scenic route – which is great for us because we love boats (see images below).
After a quick look round and an obligatory photograph or two, we felt a bit dumbfounded (excuse me) about what to do next – I mean I guess we expected there would be more over there but no really it is just a good view from under a bridge – who would’a guessed? So we hopped back on our ferry and retreated to Manhattan (perhaps we should stay on the island afterall).
Stay tuned for the return to Brooklyn Part II.
